Description
Welcome to APARTMENT TWO – The Old Police House in Padstow
(Please also see our other listing for ‘Apartment One’ which is our lovely two bedroomed, pet free, first floor apartment above)
We would describe our popular Apartments as 4 star Padstow accommodation. This interesting and much-loved property is centrally located in Old Town Padstow, originally it was the town’s Police House and has the tallest door in Padstow to accommodate the police hats worn in those days!
The Quay and centre of gorgeous Padstow town are on the doorstep, a level stroll away, but the house is perfectly positioned and a bit tucked back from the busy town streets. The building comprises of two apartments and each apartment has the fantastic advantage of adjoining parking for one vehicle (1 x space per apartment) in the shared car park alongside the house – which to anyone who knows how busy Padstow can get is a huge advantage!!
PLEASE SEE OUR BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS BELOW.
ACCOMODATION DESCRIPTION:
The Old Police House – Apartment Two:
Our one bedroomed ground floor apartment is very comfortable, has lots of Cornish charm and character and is very well located. (Please note: We can only accept bookings for couples or singles in this apartment).
A lot of improvements have been made recently, including double glazing throughout, slate hung exterior wall, new carpets throughout and a lovely new bathroom. Look out for more improvements over the forthcoming years!
Initial access is through the rear stable door, although there is access through the front entrance, too. From the shared front hallway each apartment has its own private access.
Apartment Two is located on the ground floor, although there are a few steps to access the back entrance and two low steps up to the front entrance. From the front door access, you enter the Apartment through your own private access and into a small hallway.
From this hallway, there is a good-sized Lounge/Diner which has a comfy twin sofa and an armchair, with a Flat Screen Smart TV and DVD player. There is a small dining table and two chairs available.
The good-sized and well-equipped Kitchen is separated from the lounge and has an electric 4-ringed hob, an electric oven with grill, and a microwave oven. There is also a fridge, with a standard freezer compartment. Please note: There is no dishwasher, washing machine or separate freezer within the property, although there is a nearby laundrette in Wadebridge.
Also from the hallway, there is a good sized bedroom, with a Double Bed, Double Wardrobe and Chest of Drawers. We provide a hair dryer and lots of sockets for charging devices.
Next to the bedroom is a separate, newly refurbished bathroom. This has a very roomy shower cubicle, featuring a fantastic waterfall shower, rather than a bath. There is a heated towel rail, and a shaving socket is next to the LED-lit mirror.
For heating, we have new Electric Panel Radiators in the bedroom and lounge. These can be controlled easily by our guests. There is a fan heater in the kitchen and bathroom, plus some spare electric heaters available, should they be needed. A cooling fan is supplied, too, for hot, summer months! The hot water is electrically heated throughout.
All linen and towels are supplied, but please bring your own beach towels, plus throws and towels to protect the furnishings if you have a dog with you.
Free Wi-Fi throughout
The access to the rear of the property is down some steps and through our small, fenced yard (also containing the washing line and wheelie bins, which are for the use of both apartments). The remaining outside space belongs to the house at the rear, but the steps have shared access for both houses.
ADDITIONAL BOOKING INFORMATION:
Minimum booking is 3 nights, except for high season, when it is 4 nights or more. There is a reduction in our pricing for a 7 night stay. Always ask if you require a 3 night stay in peak season, though – as we try to help!
Check in is after 4.30pm. Check out is 10.00am.
If you are staying for two weeks, a local cleaner can come in after the first week for an additional fee of £25
Please do note that there is an apartment above this one. We have put new underlay in to keep noise to a minimum but, as in all old houses, it is impossible to completely mask.
There is a damage deposit arrangement, which will be used to cover anything we are unable to clean or repair easily, but small breakages will not be charged for. Do, please let us know, though, so they can be replaced in time for our next booking. Thank you.
Whilst we normally request a Damage Deposit of £125, for short stays of 4 nights or less we will not collect the Deposit from your card but we will place a “hold” on that amount against your chosen card (as used to pay the other Booking fees) on the day before your arrival. The “hold’ will be released & will expire after seven days unless there are chargeable damages discovered on inspection of the property.
For insurance purposes, we will require a home address for the main booker, a contact number and the names of all guests over 16yrs, before entry codes are given, please.
Please do advise us of any issues with the apartment within 2 days of arrival, so that we can try and address these for the rest of your stay.
PETS: A maximum of two small to medium dogs are very welcome, although we do not accept dogs under 6 months old or any banned breeds. Please advise at the time of booking. We do not have a garden, but the Church Woods are only a short stroll up the lane for your dogs to enjoy morning and evening exercise. The town beaches are a longer walk in the other direction – about 15 to 20 mins. Most beaches and local pubs allow dogs. As mentioned above, please bring enough doggie throws and towels to protect the furnishings. Thank you x
FIRE REGULATIONS: Our apologies but, due to new fire regulations, we are now unable to allow charging or storage of electric bikes, scooters, or vapes inside. No extension lead charging of the above /electric cars.
PARKING INFO
Each apartment has the fantastic advantage of an allocated parking space right next to the house, in a small, shared car park. (Please note that, due to the width of the car park, vans or large SUV’s, over 4.5m long, will sadly not fit into our spaces. A family car or small SUV is fine. Please enquire if not sure. We cover parking expense for the duration of your stay, if an alternative is needed).
WE DO HAVE SOME HOUSE RULES:
We will not tolerate excessive noise or disturbance, which may disturb guests in the other apartment, or our neighbours.
No smoking or use of drugs is allowed within the building at all.
No additional guests allowed to stay overnight, which will take us over our insured allocation of two guests downstairs and four guests upstairs, unless agreed by us at the time of booking.
Please park with consideration for the other car park users.
(Unfortunately, your stay may be ended early if any of these conditions are considered by us to be intentionally broken. Thank you so very much for your cooperation in advance).

Welcome to The Old Police House in Padstow – a lovely pet-friendly property, very centrally located in Old Town Padstow, with the added bonus of adjacent parking! Originally, this was the town Police Station with the tallest door in Padstow to accommodate the traditional police hats worn in those days! The Quay and centre of town, with all the fantastic attractions, boat trips, restaurants, shops and pubs, are right on the doorstep just a level stroll away, but the house is perfectly positioned and a bit tucked back from the busy town streets. This interesting building comprises of two apartments, which are suited only to couples and families, due to the quiet position in the town. I have refurbished the apartments hugely since I began looking after the family-owned property over 12 years ago, achieving excellent reviews. It is a labour of love for me and I hope that all of my guests will love Padstow, and the house, as much as myself and my family do.
