All holiday rental or business owners in Cornwall are aware of the huge change that happens overnight as soon as the schools break up and our towns, villages and beaches are suddenly swamped with holiday makers wanting to make the most of their precious time off, it is what we prepare for all year round!! Love it or hate it, in hospitality it is what it is all about, so are you ready this year…?

We have put together a few useful tips to help guide you through the mayhem of the 6 weeks school holidays and gather a few extra tips on how you can make the most of those last minute bookings too 😉
- Be guest ready all day EVERY DAY!!
- Make sure that your holiday rental can be rented out at a minutes notice; have clean bedding ready to go, make sure its thoroughly cleaned after every change over to save time, and do all those little maintenance jobs BEFORE the 6 weeks start.
- Make sure that your advertising is up to date, availability calendars, pricing, description etc – if its been a while since you last checked – DO IT NOW!! Take a look at our handy owner How To Guides.
- Have a cleaner/handyman’s details to hand – if the worst happens and you can’t get to your change over or a toilet starts leaking 1 hour pre guest arrival you will be ready and prepared. Take a look at our Local Services pages.
- Keep an eye on the local Facebook accommodation groups for guests looking for last minute stays, remember to use your listing link and keep the message short and sweet 😉
- Be Flexible where you can – sometimes taking a last minute 4 night stay can be better than an empty property.
- Businesses – make sure that your advert is still up to date and in the right category, if you need us to change anything just get in touch

Last minute bookings are definitely on the rise and this year especially, so try and do all you can to fill those dates – it is always worth it and its what it is all about.
